Giacometti 2

Giacometti

I just finished reading James Lord's "A Giacometti Portrait" about his experiences modeling for the ultimate studio artist. Giacometti would work almost non-stop, until the light failed . When he stopped working on the portrait of James Lord he would immediately start working on a sculpture. Even though he was well to do (he hid piles of cash around his room) he had the same simple lunch every day. He was extremely modest to the point of being self-deprecating.

here he is talking about his work.

We fly

"We fly; we dream in darkness; we devour heaven in bites too small to be measured."
